What will happen at my first Visit?
We very much look forward to meeting you and working together to improve your smile and keep your teeth and gums healthy.
During your first visit we will ask about your dental health concerns and goals. We will examine your teeth thoroughly, assess the condition of the gum tissue, and take low-dose x-rays if necessary. We will discuss our findings with you and recommend treatment options designed specifically for you. The cost and timing of the treatment will be tailored to fit your budget and schedule. We will co-ordinate referral(s) to specialist(s) and continue to monitor your care.
The first visit generally takes an hour for adults. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment to complete a medical questionnaire.
For children, the first visit may include a complete exam, a cleaning, a fluoride treatment, and low-dose x-rays if needed. We always monitor the comfort level of your child and will tailor the appointment to ensure that your child has the most positive first visit possible.

what should I bring to my first appointment?
- A list of your current medications (some prescription medicines affect dental care, so it is important that we are aware of them).
- Any x-rays taken at a previous dental office in the past two years. X-rays are an important diagnostic tool. We are happy to use recent x-rays if they are available. If you are unable to get your prior x-rays, please provide us with the previous office’s contact information. We will have you sign a release form and then try to obtain them for you. If they are unavailable at your first visit, we might need to take new low-dose x-rays to perform our job properly.
- Insurance information, if eligible. Please provide us with the name of the insurance carrier plus any group, policy, identification, or contract number. We will use this information to submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf after each visit.
