ATTENTION: AS OF MAY 29, 2020 ALL ELECTIVE DENTAL SERVICES ARE STILL CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19.
I trust that you and your family are staying healthy in these unusual times. As of this date we are awaiting clear guidance from the Chief Medical Office of Health, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and other regulatory bodies who will determine what new regulations will be required and when dental offices can reopen.
Until then we are working hard to be able to serve you safely as soon as possible. Please visit this website frequently for up to date information.
Many of you have left phone messages, which we appreciate. We monitor and respond as frequently as possible. We will arrange appointments for you once we know when we will reopen. In the meantime we will provide you with guidance and advice to help you deal with any dental concerns you might have.
Our infection prevention policies and procedures have always met and often exceeded the professional standards. Rest assured that we will continue to do so when we open. Indeed we will implement any new guidelines before we return to work so that you can be confident that we are able to provide the safest dental care possible to you and your family. We have already taken steps to meet the guidelines we anticipate will be announced soon. These include:
New Safety Policies
We will inform you of these when we book your appointment. Please feel free to ask us any questions you might have.
We will begin offering appointments as soon as the authorities have provided us with a firm date to reopen and we have completed making any necessary changes to our office. The first appointments will be given to those of you who have urgent concerns. Everyone will be pre-screened for symptoms of COVID-19 at the time appointments are made. Patient visits will be spaced to permit thorough cleaning of the operatory before the next appointment.
Screening Upon Arrival
Everyone, including each staff member, will be screened prior to entering the clinic. This will include completion of a questionnaire and measurement of their temperature. We will also ask you to sanitise your hands and put on a mask (feel free to wear your own).
Cleanliness and Sterilisation
These have been critically important to us since we opened over thirty years ago. To these we will add additional cleaning of door handles, chairs, and other surfaces. We will also provide you and our staff with Personal Protective Equipment. As before our office will be one of the cleanest environments you will encounter.
Our waiting room will be rearranged so that you can sit at a safe distance from others. Patients and staff will be guided through the office in a way that prevents close contact with others.
We know how difficult the past few months have everyone. We share your frustrations at the unavoidable interruptions to our lives but appreciate your understanding while all of us adapt to the new reality. We very much look forward to seeing you again as soon as it is safely possible and thank you for your patience until then.
On March 15, 2020 the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario directed that "all non-essential and elective (dental) services should be suspended immediately". Please call the office and leave a voice message if you have a dental emergency . We monitor the answering system and can advise you how emergencies can be managed. For immediate care please call the Dental Emergency Centre at 416 485 7121.
The College defines emergencies as oral-facial trauma, significant infection, prolonged bleeding, or pain which cannot be managed by over-the-counter medications. If you require treatment of one of these emergencies we will refer you to a clinic that has COVID-19 precautions in place.
We are in the process of enhancing our already strict infection prevention equipment, procedures, and policies. We will notify you when this is complete. We look forward to seeing you again as soon as we can do so safely and with open arms.
We would like to thank all of you for your patience and perseverance during these unusual times. We wish you all the very best of health and look forward to seeing you again soon.

"I enjoy dentistry as much for the long-term relationships I build with my patients as for the opportunity to make a positive impact on their health and appearance. I truly enjoy the work that I do and welcome the challenges that it brings. This is reflected by the professional atmosphere in our office and my team's willingness to make the most of your visits" Dr. Samira Jaffer
